Dr. Dobash of St. Luke’s Appointed to Statewide Committee

Gregory Dobash, MD, a physician with St. Luke’s Ashland Family Practice, will bring his passion for teaching and rural health to the Resident & Student Affairs Committee (RSAC) of the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians (PAFP).

Dr. Dobash was recently appointed to the committee by the PAFP Board of Directors. According to the academy, its RSAC analyzes trends related to medical student interest in family medicine and effectiveness of current family medicine resident and student initiatives. It also works with appropriate entities to advocate for family medicine, promotes the specialty to qualified medical graduates to enter family medicine, and oversees its annual Spring Family Medicine Conference.

“I am honored to be part of the Resident and Student Affairs Committee as I get to work closely with others who share my passion for teaching,” Dr. Dobash says. “I am also looking forward to sharing my passion for rural health with the committee.”

Dr. Dobash joined St. Luke’s in 2012, and has provided care at Ringtown Family Practice’s Ringtown and Coaldale locations. He recently joined with Kristin O'Donnell, CRNP, to form St. Luke’s Ashland Family Practice, which will increase patient access to St. Luke’s care in a more central location. In addition, he is the director of the Rural Health Centers at the Miners Campus.

Dr. Dobash has obtained National Committee for Quality Assurance and Patient Centered Medical Home recognition. He is also board-certified in addiction medicine.

Dr. Dobash earned his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine before serving his residency at Warminster Hospital. After residency, he stayed on as faculty and became increasingly involved with the medical student educational activities.
